Mary is from Colorado. She is a graduate of Colorado State University,
Fort Collins, CO with a degree in Art. She then attended from Parks
School of Business in Denver. Afterwards her career experience included
15 years as a business Programmer/Analyst and later, self-employment in
a related field. The desire to paint again surfaced, and Mary returned
to her art and painting in 1998. She and her husband now make their home
in Florida after having lived in the Denver area for many years. They
have two adult children and two grandchildren.
Mary’s paintings have been influenced by exposure to different cultures
and sights along the roads from Colorado to Florida. She takes many,
many digital photos which serve as inspiration and information while
composing her paintings. Sometimes several reference photos are combined
to create one composition, other times one photograph is so completely
expressive that it alone serves as inspiration; however, photo-realism
is not the artist's goal. Other paintings evolve totally from the
imagination. Studying under a variety of local and nationally-recognized
artists has given her fresh insights and abilities to portray what she
has experienced. She feels that her art is not only self-expression, but
also the passion to share a vision.
In 2007, Mary opened a shop online on Etsy.com where her shop name is
